Hiewa Stays and Trails (“we”) runs hiewa.in. This page explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What we collect

  • Booking details: name, phone number, email, dates, rooms or trail chosen, number of guests, and any message you add.
  • Trail participant details: names, ages, emergency contacts, and any medical, dietary or fitness information you choose to share for safety.
  • Contact and waitlist forms: the details you type into them.
  • Usage data: if analytics is enabled, anonymous information about pages visited and the device used, via Google Analytics.

We do not collect or store card or bank details. Payments are made by UPI directly from your own payment app.

How we use it

  • To confirm and manage your booking, and to contact you about it.
  • To keep you safe on trails and in an emergency.
  • To answer your questions.
  • To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Services that handle your data for us

  • Google Firebase (booking records)
  • Google Sheets (our booking register)
  • Resend and EmailJS (sending confirmation and enquiry emails)
  • Google Analytics (site usage, if enabled)
  • Vercel (website hosting)

These providers process data only to deliver their service to us.

Stored in your browser

While you book, your in-progress details are kept in your browser's session storage, so they are not lost if you switch to your UPI app. They are cleared when the booking completes or when you close the tab.

How long we keep it

We keep booking records for as long as we need them for the booking, for our accounts, and to meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your details at any time, subject to those obligations.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
